BIOGRAPHY

Stefan Beskow has more than 30 years of experience in the Scuba Diving industry and has worked as an instructor for many years. It was there that he came into contact with Mares. “Their quality was second to none! There were never any problems, their equipment always worked in every situation and that's really important when working as an instructor!” he says. A sign of this is that he still uses his beloved Avanti Quattro + fins which he has had since 1999 and done thousands of dives with!

Since 1999, he has been specialized in underwater photography and has traveled to many different parts of the world to document the fascinating underwater world. His images are known to be vivid and colorful, and they encourage the viewer to explore and appreciate the unseen world beneath the surface.

As a photographer, he has been published in many different international magazines and is a regular contributor to DYK,  Scandinavia's premier dive magazine. He is also a proud member of Naturfotograferna - a society for Sweden's premiere nature photographers. He also holds training in underwater photography, both in the form of workshops and online courses.

Stefan has made three instructional films for Moderskeppet, the largest producer of educational photographic films in Scandinavia.

He is frequently a judge for photo competitions. He photographs with Nikon cameras and uses Sea & Sea housings and strobes, he is also an ambassador for Sea&Sea.

For the past few years, he has been an organizer in what has become Scandinavia's largest underwater shoot out competition, Smögen Underwater photo week, with close to 100 participants!

When he is on a photo assignment, he never compromises on the quality of his dive gear, it has to work in every situation!  Currently, Stefan uses Mares' Avanti Quattro + fins,  an X-Vision mask, a Flexa wetsuit, the Atlas 62X regulator and the XR-Rec Trim Single Backmount Set.
