The evolution

  • Combine hose for octopus and inflator
  • Ergonomic shape
  • Pre-oriented mouthpiece for easier use

Air Control, the new mares alternative air source, offers the option to use the same hose for the octopus and the inflator. The pre-oriented mouthpiece makes it usable as a quick and easy octopus. The cover features the Mesh Grid system, made of soft material so the purge button is easy to push, even when wearing gloves. It complies with EC standards and with special adaptors that can be easily assembled on all BCs. The ergonomic shape allows one-handed use.

All current in line Mares Regulators are compatible up to 40% Oxygen (EAN 40) right out of the box.

Technologies

  • Mesh Grid
Patented design which reduces the impact of water flow onto the second stage diaphragm, thus eliminating free flows even in strong currents.
  • VAD - Vortex Assisted Design
The air bypass tube delivers air to the mouthpiece creating a swirling vortex with a low pressure area in the center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for very sensitive and easy breathing at all depths.
  • Superflex Hose
Extreme light weight and exceptional softness guarantee the maximum freedom of movement.
  • Fluid Dynamic Deflector
Receives and properly directs the airflow from the bypass tube to the mouthpiece.

Love it !!!!!!!!!! Review by Fesk / (Posted on 5/16/2018)
Ok, I am the first to say I do not like the long hose of an extra octo hanging out their. But what I do like is the Air Control connected to the inflator hose. I do have an extra the extra octo hooked up for when I am training but that comes off when I am diving on my own. The freedom of not having that extra hose is nice. And I don't have to worry about the extra hose banging around anything. I would definitely recommend the Air Control, not only only to get away from the bulky hose and regulator but for simplicity of trimming and less drag of your dive profile. But please remember that if you use an Air Control that you practice, practice, practice your out of air simulations and let your dive buddy know about your equipment !!!!!
