BIOGRAPHY

Ale, as his friends call him, was born surrounded by water in the Canary archipelago. It was impossible not to be drawn to the sea when it was so close. His first contact with diving was in 1994, when he was only 20 years old, and he discovered that, along with other activities in the natural environment, he wanted to explore, teach and discover.

He finished his higher studies while serving as a soldier in the Army Corps of Engineers. Once this period was over, and knowing that he wanted to continue with his passion, he graduated as a Physical-Sports Technician and meanwhile entered the world of rebreathers. While he continued with his training and gained experience in the different fields of diving, he was discovering places and people around the world. Countries like the Maldives, Egypt and Mexico were where he grew into the diver he is today.

As a defender and explorer of nature, he is currently a member of the Explorers Club of New York.

After 15 years away from the Canary Islands, he returned in 2013 and continued teaching at the Diving Canarias Diving Center in Tenerife, his native island.

He is still connected to recreational diving, although most of his time is spent in both open circuit and closed circuit technical diving. An Instructor Trainer of practically any level and specialty, he teaches and trains divers from zero to Hypoxic Trimix Instructor, or for indoor environments, both wrecks and caves.

A rebreather lover, he is a Mares Horizon Instructor Trainer as well as an instructor for many other closed circuit rebreathers such as the rEvo, Poseidon MkVI, Poseidon Se7en, Inspiration, Evolution, Liberty and Hollis Explorer among others.

Having a professional like Ale as an ambassador for Mares is irrefutable proof of the reliability, modernity and quality of Mares gear, in any environment and at any depth, however demanding it may be.
