BIOGRAPHY

Byoung Ju Seo is our first Mares XR ambassador from Asia.

He is an underwater explorer specialized in overhead environments, and an SSI XR Instructor Trainer.

His first expedition began in an underwater sea cave that was discovered by chance. After the expedition was over, it was discovered to be the longest sea cave in Korea.

Other notable expeditions of his include the discovery of Jeju Island's underwater crater and the development of an underwater mine diving project. The underwater crater not only has precious geological value, which is rare in the world, but also ecological value. The underwater mine diving project, known as the “Dragon 58K project”, was pioneered by two of his teammates, with the team doing hundreds of dives over two years. The entire section of Dragon 58K mine is known to be 58km, and as of 2023, the Dragon 58K project is still ongoing.

Despite his tenacious achievements, he is well known as an explorer who has also had failures, and his valuable experiences have become a cornerstone of his education in his technical dive training.

He always says the purpose of his technical dive training is to find a team mate with the potential to explore unknown diving territory with him.

No one can gauge the end of his challenges and adventures, but his journey is always accompanied by Mares.
