BIOGRAPHY

Crazy about the sea since childhood, Juandi has been working in the diving industry since 2002.

He studied to become a Physical Education teacher or coach at the INEF in Madrid, but after 6 months of working as a Divemaster in 2001, he never returned.

His hunger to improve and learn have led him to becoming a dive instructor for recreational and technical diving, also for people with reduced mobility, as well as a freediving instructor.

He has taken part in many different conservation and exploration projects in deep wrecks and caves around Spain.

He worked as an instructor, skipper and manager of the Rivemar Dive Center in La Azohia, Spain,  until 2015.

Despite many years in the sea, freediving was initially just a hobbie for Juandi during spare moments on the boat. In 2012 he became a freediving instructor, and has been teaching freedivers all around the Spanish coast ever since.

In 2017 he created his own company which offers personal training and diving and freediving education, especially in technical diving and freediving. His philosophy is based on using freediving for personal wellness and controlling emotions, leading him to train with many Spanish celebrities and become part of two of the most famous TV shows in Spain, El Hormiguero and El Desafío, as a freediving coach.

He still holds freediving courses around Spain, especially in the -20m deep Marepolis pool in Madrid, and also arranges team building and wellness programs based on freediving, training for competitions and yoga and freediving retreats.

Staying motivated and continued learning are his keys to maintaining the same passion for diving as he had on his first day in the industry.
