Luca was introduced to spearfishing by his father, firstly as his boatman, then his fishing partner, before they teamed up to compete for the Club Sub Sestri Levante.

He made his competition debut in 2002 participating in individual and team events with good results, and in 2011 he became part of the Mares Pure Instinct Team.

A good Ligurian athlete, he knows all fishing techniques well, even if his favourite place for fishing is in dens.

For competitions and fishing holidays he visits various locations, learning to face different conditions and developing the techniques most useful for fishing in the specific area.

As well as the seas of different Italian regions, he has also tried Corsica, France and Croatia, and on occasion he completely changes setting, facing the waters of Lake Garda.

Thanks to good results obtained in competitions, he was promoted to the Campionati Italiani di 2a Categoria in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

After obtaining 14th place in the 2015 championships, he was promoted to the Campionato Assoluto in 2016.
