8mm neoprene chest (7 and 5mm in the other versions respectively). Arms and legs in 6mm elastic neoprene (5 and 4mm). 6mm neoprene (5 and 4mm) on the thighs and gluteus for greater durability. Seals at the neck, wrists, and ankles in 5mm neoprene (3.5mm). Incredibly easy to put on, these suits ensure flexibility and warmth. New model for women, 100% elastic with a range of thicknesses for supreme comfort.
THERMO PLUSH
This internal fabric dedicated to the inside panel of suits is soft, smooth, durable and developed to increase free movement. Ideal to guarantee extreme mobility, its refined finish prevents the suit from retaining water with the double benefit of keeping you warmer and making the suit dry faster.
GLIDESKIN
With seals at the neck, wrist and ankles, Glideskin uses a a special finish that provides a wide range of benefits. Extremely slippery: it makes the suit easy to put on and remove, while maintaining a great seal against the skin. Warmth: low heat conduction makes the suit warmer. Easy to maintain: excellent dirt and water repellent qualities. Available in graphite, sapphire and metal.
BACK PROTECTION SYSTEM
The Back Protection System takes inspiration from our BC Knowledge. We thought to add a wide additional neoprene layer in the lumbar region. Benefits are multiple, specifically by adding extra warmth in a zone that is usually cold sensitive. Extra protection for better comfort when diving and also less empty spaces for disturbing water sacks.
SPINE PAD
The spine pad is an additional layer of thick neoprene that is stitched under the back zipper of a steamer. This additional layer provides double benefits. Its smooth external skin perfectly adheres with the inner part of the zipper, thereby obtaining an exceptional seal. Its thickness provides much more comfort during diving, reducing the uncomfortable feeling of the tank on the back.
DOUBLE CONE
The double cone system (with or without zips) minimizes the water flow in the most critical sealing areas like wrists and ankles. First, fold the glide part of the inner cone against your skin and second, overlap a glove with the glide surface of upper cone, thus providing an incomparable seal.
COMFORT PLUSH
This internal plush fabric has a low heat conductivity thus reaining warmth and providing a comfortable feeling. Moreover, its loop finish gives a softer feel against the skin. Both Thermo and Comfort Plush are easy to identify on a Mares suit, thanks to the use of the red color that shows the different fabrics inside the suit.
CUSTOM CLOSURE
New neck closure allows you to easily customize how tight you want the neck. Velcro neck folds in on itself when needed to eliminate snagging of the plush or neoprene. Back zips with skin on skin zipper seals for superior water seal.
SUPRATEX KNEE PAD
Knee protection made of anti-scratch polyurethane not only looks sharp, but is engineered for high strength and protection without compromising flexibility. The linear design moves in line with your body while still guarding this high wear area.
TITEX ZIPS
Both Mares Isotherm and 2nd Skin use a TIZIP high strenght zipper. Isotherm uses a horizontal version, the SuperSeal, which is the perfect zipper for semi dry diving suits. The 2ndSkin uses the SilverSeal which is extremely strong and forgiving when installed upright in the back of steamers. For best performance, it is recommended that both be lubricated regularly.
DOUBLE SEALING SYSTEM
Advanced construction utilizing an internal gasket seal for the least water movement. The combined action of the internal neoprene O-ring with the Skin Seal has created this double barrier called Double Seal System. Two technologies together minimizing the water flow thought wrists.
