Biography

After secondary school, Roberto went on to study at the ISEF in Rome, and for many years taught Sports Science at a sports facility in the capital.

He started freediving when spearfishing as a child, and his passion for the sea, as well as skills acquired through studies, made this activity his profession.

Roberto is Federal Expert for freediving and spearfishing with FIPSAS and is part of the federal team involved in instructor training. He is also a CMAS Freediving Instructor and since 1996 he has been an instructor at the Apnea Academy, instructor at the Apnea National School and a FIN instructor.

Since 2003, he has written for the monthly magazines “Pesca In Apnea” and “Il Subacqueo”, and in 2013 he collaborated with the magazine “Pescasub”. He is the co-author of the “Manuale Del Pescatore In Apnea”, a guide used in FIPSAS training.

Roberto is also the creator of various videos dedicated to spearfishing, and has released 6 DVDs. In 2008, he made 8 documentaries for the satellite channel “Caccia & Pesca” dedicated to spearfishing.

He founded ‘Blu Deep Roma’, one of the biggest schools for Freediving in the capital, and is their current President and Training Director.

Roberto uses Mares equipment, preferring pneumatic guns for shooting larger fish, and the Cyrano HF is perfect for this, giving greater security.
